As one of the most popular goddesses worshiped by the Celts, she continues to be a favorite among Christians as many of her stories and myths survived in the persona of Saint Brigid. Thanks for the praise everyone! I find that when I explore a mythic figure, I have to understand it in an abstract form first, before I can do anything representational. I found the whirling energy of the galaxy with all the fiery suns and stars contained within it a perfect analogy for Brigid the goddess of fire, poetry and healing. I used the form the Whirpool galaxy as a jumping off point, but then let the meditations of Brigid guide my hand.
