Artist's Description
This painting is an early exploration of the study of tree spirits, an exploration of which I intend to take further. Birch has always fascinated me. It is flexible and strong and when they grow together in tall, thin groups, I feel as though many eyes are watching me. I added the white stag as a spiritual manifestation of the birch, a kind of animal dryad that frequents these special, magical groves of trees. PLEASE NOTE: the original painting is small, so smaller-sized prints will look truer to the original image, if you would like a large print, I recommend getting it on canvas for a more painterly effect.
