Óengus, also known as Angus Mac Og, is the Celtic god of love and beauty, also of summer and dreams; patron deity of young men and women. This painting is inspired by Óengus' domain of dreams and love.
It was created using a glazing technique, in which many thin layers of translucent paint are overlayed upon each other. The deepest colors are many hundreds of thin layers.
