My impressionistic rendering of the Mission Hill in Sherrill, NY, which is just a short walk from my house. The hill has the remains of an old road lines by ancient sugar maples a good 6 to 8 feet in diameter, which leads up to the sunken depression of what used to be a foundation. There is a history to this hill, unknown to me, but it draws me to it. Whenever I walk by, I must peer past the younger trees to the ancient giants that stand proudly within.
AS Galbraith is a contemplative artist working primarily in hand embroidery, but also has worked with watercolor, acrylic inks and acrylics. He is also a Zen Buddhist monk, (dharma name: Ven. Myohye Do'an) and besides creating art, he is the guiding teacher for Lotus Heart Zen. The purchase here help support his ability to create art and teach.
